The Generative Mind

The Generative Mind began as a way to examine that question. It became a set of analysis tools, including a browser extension and a command-line analyzer, and was later explored under the name QuantaRead.

The framing changed as the project developed. Early language about detecting manipulation gave way to looking at how ideas expand or collapse. That made it possible to examine a passage without assuming the writer's intentions. A well-intentioned piece can still close off a useful question.

A single score couldn't carry the interesting part. The useful material was the passage itself, the move the analysis noticed, and the reasoning a reader could inspect or disagree with. This remains an archived experiment in reading more attentively.
